Win a FREE book!

In the spirit of the holidays (and you’ve seen me get in this “spirit” before), I’m giving away free books! That’s right, a signed copy of one of my books FREE to three lucky winners! Just leave a comment in the comment link below and your name will go into the drawing barrel. On December 25 I’ll draw three lucky winners and send them a signed book (U.S. only PLEASE!). Don’t forget to leave your e-mail or a means of contact so I can notify you (Would appreciate a Digg as well)!

Also, you’ve heard me preach and preach about how signed books make great holiday gifts! Well, how about a Christmas gift for a friend or family member for under $10? Okay, done! I’m reducing the cost of all three of my printed books to $9.95 for the rest of the holiday season! I’m even going to pay the shipping for you (U.S. only please!!). But I’ll need you to order through my Authors Box Website because it's too hard for me to change my PayPal button on my personal site and (http://www.authorsbox.com go to “bookstore”) because Amazon, B & N, and the others just aren’t feeling so generous! Since my newest release, A Book Inside, How to Write, Publish, and Sell Your Story received a 5 star review from Midwest Book Review, Amazon has actually removed their discount price from the Website all together and is now asking the FULL COVER PRICE of $18.95—they’re really NOT in the giving spirit at all!

Most of you already know that I donate one copy of my book for each of my books purchased. Yes, I will still do that with this $9.95 Christmas offer. I will continue my 10% donation to Breast Cancer Research as well.

If what you REALLY want to get or give for Christmas is a copy of my latest e-book, How to Organize a Virtual Book Tour, it’s still available for $6.95 in e-book format. But if you would like a copy printed out, signed, and sent to you, I would love to do that for you, yes, still just $6.95 (it’s Christmas!). Just send me an e-mail along with your order (chipanugget@juno.com).

Thank you all for making A Book Inside Blog one of the best writer resources on line in 2008! We’re looking forward to a wonderful 2009! I wish you all a beautiful and joyous holiday season! Don’t forget; “family first!”

I have been checking out the various sites you recommend. I thought you had suggested that "iuniverse" but now as I go over your list, I don't see it. I sent away for their material and they immediately CALLED me on the phone which makes me think they are a vanity press and I don't want that. Maybe you could post about how to know the difference up front between vanity presses and legitimate small presses. I really love your blog and read all your posts.

Hi, Carol,

I love your book - A Book Inside, How to Write, Publish, and Sell Your Story - although I haven't seen the hardcopy yet. I reviewed the manuscript before it was published. It's a great book.

I'd love to interview you sometime on Book Bites for Kids. We often talk about the writing and publishing process.

Happy writing!

Thank you Suzanne!
Patricia,
I don't believe I mentioned iUniverse in my blog but do recall talking breifly about it in an interview I recently did. Maybe you heard it mentioned there?? iUniverse is a POD and if you want to publish just one book, such as a family history or something with a limited number (one for each family member, a school project, etc), they're great. But if you want to publish numerous copies for resale, no, I wouldn't recommend them.
I would suggest you consider picking up a current copy of Writer's Market to find an appropriate publisher for your work.
Good luck with your book!

This is my second time here; I enjoyed what I have read and it has helped me to understand things that are foriegn to me. I am writing my first book and finally publishing and writing poetry. Very hard for me to do and I have to make myself hit the mouse to post most of my works.

Thank You for all the information you have written for those that need it. I enjoyed your interview with Yvonne Perry also.

Put me in the draw - I wouldn't want to miss out!

Carol said...

JR, I would LOVE to do that book next!!! As you know, I did do the Virtual Tour e-book, didn't you order it? Was is good info and helpful for you?

Mary, Yvonne is a good friend of mine and that makes it easy to do a good interview, glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for the nice comments!

I hope you all will pursue your writing--if you need more inspiration, don't forget I have just released a new "free" e-book written to inspire you. Details are a post or two down from this one. Wish I could guarentee the writing book, but I have three paperbacks and the giveaway will be one of each. But if you don't win the writing one, you could order one cheap (hint, hint!!)
Best to all, keep the great comments coming!

I am so glad I have found you and your blog, books, and information! This drawing is a very kind gesture. However, after reading your blog and seeing that you donate to breast cancer shows me that this type of gesture is not unusual for you. You are a special person for sure.

Thank you for allowing me to be a part of this great energy.

Blessings from my spirit to your spirit!

Carol,

Thanks for sharing your wisdom. I've done a lot of writing, and a lot of editing for others, next is getting my own books published!

I'm looking forward to reading "A Book Inside." I know it will be a great, informative read.

I'll probably get it before the drawing because I don't want to wait that long to read it. But I'm still like the donkey in Shrek, at the beginning, jumping up and down saying, "Pick me! Pick me!"

Thanks again!

Hello Carol,

I would love to be entered in your drawing to have a chance at winning a signed copy of one of your books. I hope to be fortunate enough to win a book. I thoroughly enjoy all of your informative blogs and other information that you so generously share with readers. Since joining the Book Inside Forum, I have learned so much with all of your up-to-date resources and endless confidence building knowledge that explores the traditional, and self-publishing scene. Others who seek knowledge about any writing related subjects can greatly benefit from your information. Being a new author myself, I plan on utilizing as much of and as many of your resources as possible. Many thanks for the opportunity to win one of your books.

I'm a casual author -- the first article I wrote for publication got me a huge check, and I haven't submitted anything for pay in the 30+ years since. I write most specific non-fiction, usually on religious topics (Paganism and Hinduism) and how those things relate to mental health (see my monthly article, Door to the Beyond: Paganism and Mental Health in http://PaganPages.org ). I'm Administrative Editor for Eternal Press, but for me even that is done in a family-ish amateur atmosphere. I'd rather have fun and educate than make money... don't know what I have against money, but it hasn't been good to me ha ha.

I look forward to seeing more of your stuff.

Hugs,

Isn't Amazon funny that way! If your book is selling, they jack the price up, if it's not, they drop it! I guess they know after spending a kabilliom dollars on marketing!!!
Thanks for all your great comments!
Carol

Carol said...

FYI, I will be glad to print, sign and mail the e-book, but remember, it's loaded with quick links, so it might be easier on screen.
I did include full http's in it so if it is printed, it's still not hard to get to the Website listed, you just have to type them out. If any visitors ordered the e-book and have any comments on the simplicity of the links, I'd love to hear about it.
Best!
Carol

Sue Sunshine said...

How many pages does the e-book have? I have an attention span problem on the internet if there are more than 3 pages. *grin* The number of pages would determine whether I would order a print copy or an ebook copy.

Thank you.

Hi all!
Sue, the e-book is only 47 pages, but it will walk you right through creating an effective virtual book tour. I don't "think" you'll get lost in it! I'm still here if you need help.

Karen, wow, thank you!!! Good to hear from you too!

Hi Carol!
I was reviewing your stuff in The Writer's Box. I'm a newbie to this whole writing thing.
After the 1st of the year, I will surely get your book on the 'how-to' basics.

I look forward to catching you in The Box community soon. Thanks for sharing your insight and for writing on these seemingly overwhelming topics!

If I've gotten to this point, I've obviously been to some of your other links as well.

I would also consider it an honor to win one your fabulous publications, and esp. a 'signed copy'. Pls enter me into the drawing!
Best wishes...
(I can be reached in "The Box" or via email at: g_seltzer@yahoo.com. I've also just attempted to sign into the Google blog thing so I could at least attempt to post this comment.) ;-)
