Christmas is Coming! AHHHH! How About a Good Book?

Okay, so every year I seem to “miss the boat” on early bird holiday shopping because I simply refuse to accept that it is never too early to shop for Christmas gifts. So there I’ll be, one week away from the big day and empty handed again. This year will be different. Apparently, holiday buying begins the day after Halloween now; I’ll be there this year—or here!

We all love books, and one reason many visit this Blog is because they have written and published a book (or two) of their own. So before any of us goes out to purchase a gift book for the holidays, how about we share what we ourselves have available?

I welcome all published authors to use the comment section on this post to list their book titles, description, and where they can be ordered. I also encourage all Blog visitors to check out the comments and see if perhaps the perfect gift is waiting there!

Happy early holiday!

Thanks Carol! This is very nice of you to support other authors this way.

I wrote "My Funny Dad, Harry" in memory of my dad. It's about our relationship and how it progressed as he got older and fought to keep his independence. I also share how God helped me through the difficult months following his death. He had many quirks which I thought were funny, including letting three stray cats move in and live in the whole upstairs when he could have rented out to people instead. My blog is also all about him. I think anyone with aging parents would enjoy reading this book. It is available online at Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

Thanks Carol! What a lovely idea. I have an illustrated Christmas book (family devotional, simple reading) available from Lulu, and a Thanksgiving one if you want to celebrate earlier.

Christmas: Genesis to Revelation in 100 words a day

Thanksgiving: From Eden to Eternity in 100 words a day

You can find them at http://www.stores.lulu.com/sdeeth, or on my website at http://www.sheiladeeth.com under "Books."

No book yet but I am working on one. I write a few blogs which you and your readers are welcome to come by and see. It amused me you taking about Christmas shopping. I also am one who waits to the last moment however my mother looks as Halloween as her deadline. She starts buying gifts in January and is finished shopping every year by Halloween. She will go shopping after Halloween but really she is done; she only picks up a few small odds and ends if she runs across something. Hope you have a good weekend.

I asked for nothing but books this year.

I have already brought books for my sister, mother, and brother.

In fact, I only have one more book to buy!!

Yippee!!

What a wonderful opportunity to promote our books! Thank you!

We Snap in Silence has recently been released and you can find it at www.lavenderwilliams.com

A must read for women! It shares the reality of our challenging roles as wives and mothers and how to have peace in the midst of chaos. I share quite a few of my valley moments.

Tom McCann’s book, The Tree Nobody Wanted: A Christmas Story (Exeter Press Boston) takes you on a journey back to the marvel of 1940s boyhood in Brooklyn, New York. On the eve of Christmas, a young boy (in a poor neighborhood) is sent out to find a tree for the apartment where he lives with his grandmother, Nanny, and a singing bird called Sweetie.

What follows is part fable, part remembrance, part miracle. The Tree Nobody Wanted tells of a simpler Christmastime, family values, and a love that yields miracles. Check it out at www.exeterpress.com or purchase it on amazon.

PS. There's also an audio version.

This is a great idea. (I'm probably late to it though!)

killerbyte by Cat Connor
(Crime thriller)

Blurb:
With a new and exciting voice, Cat Connor introduces Ellie Conway, an FBI Agent who challenges the rules with her attitude, sense of the ridiculous and how she tackles a serial murderer with a difference: a murderer connected with Ellie’s internet poetry chat room.

With a litter of bodies ‘presented’ in unexpected places, Killerbyte is a provocatively bizarre and entertaining dance. Ellie, with the aid of Mac Connelly, must track down a seemingly motiveless and ghost-like murderer, who defies detection. After her own mother is dispatched by this slaughterer, Ellie fears for the lives of everyone close: her lover Mac, her father, her boss Special Agent Caine Grafton, and chat room colleagues. Reluctantly she begins to suspect her boss, colleagues and, her brother Aidan.

A chance remark provides a connection between past hurts and present pain.
